As Pride has just been celebrated across Ireland, I’ve found myself reflecting on just how fortunate I am to do what I do.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of standing alongside so many couples as they begin married life together. Among those have been many same-sex couples, and every single ceremony has reminded me of one simple truth: love is love.

To me, there has never been a distinction between the couples I marry. Every wedding is unique because every couple is unique—not because of who they love, but because of the story they’ve written together and the promises they’re choosing to make for the future.

Ireland hasn’t always been the country it is today. We’ve come a long way in recognising that everyone deserves the same rights, the same respect, and the same opportunity to celebrate their love. While there’s still work to be done to ensure true equality and inclusion for everyone, I’m incredibly proud to live in a country that chose compassion, fairness, and love.

As a celebrant, I’ve been invited into some of life’s most meaningful moments. I’ve watched couples exchange vows surrounded by the people they love. I’ve celebrated with them as newlyweds. And for some, I’ve had the joy of seeing their next chapters unfold—welcoming children, growing their families, and building beautiful lives together.

Those are the moments that stay with me.
Being trusted with such an important day is never something I take for granted. Whether I’m marrying a bride and groom, two brides, or two grooms, the honour is exactly the same. My role is simply to tell their story, celebrate their love, and create a ceremony that feels authentic to who they are.

Pride is a celebration, but it’s also a reminder of the journey that made these moments possible. It’s a reminder that love deserves to be celebrated in all its forms and that everyone should have the freedom to say “I do” to the person they love.
I feel incredibly privileged to have been part of so many wonderful love stories, and I look forward to being part of many more.

Because at the end of the day, that’s exactly what they are—love stories. And love has never needed a label.
Happy pride to all my couples , love to you all.
