From the moment myself and Pete met Shelly O’Shea we knew we were in for something special. Our wedding was an intimate celebration filled with love, laughter, and warmth and Shelly was at the heart of it all. We were so incredibly lucky to have Shelley as our Celebrant for our wedding at Ballymagarvey Village. From the very beginning shelley  was an absolute joy to work with. In the lead up to the big day, Shelley took the time to really get to know us as a couple through calls chats and genuine interest in our story. She was a constant source of calm and positivity, especially when I felt unsure about certain elements of the ceremony. Her reassurance and warmth made all the difference and helped turn any nerves into excitement.

Can I give more than five stars? Well I don’t think I’ll have enough space in the box to explain just how amazing Shelly is!

From the first time I spoke with Shelley (one hour and a half later on the phone) I felt like she was an old friend of mine and we were just catching up. I instantly knew she was the celebrant for us have an absolutely no clue about what happens in a wedding ceremony or how it works she was so informative about what would happen on the day and gave me a brief rundown on how the day would work. I think I was nearly 2 years before our wedding was booked with Shelly and she was always there if we ever needed any help or advice over that time. She loves the voice note as much as me which is great when you just don’t have time to wait for days for email replies and she was always quick to respond and nothing was ever a trigger to her. She took the time to get to know myself and Gary and on our day her ceremony was everything we could have dreamed of. It was so personal had lots of humour and everyone has commented just how lovely it was. No one wants a boring ceremony and you most definitely will not get that with Shelley!

Shelley was a complete professional. She arrived early on the day of our wedding and was there to set the mood has all the guests arrived to the ceremony room. Unfortunately we did have a little bit of a problem with one vendors the morning of our wedding and I don’t really know what I would’ve done without Shelly that day. My morning may have been completely different if it wasn’t for her calmness and reassuring she was pretty much held the whole thing together until we could start the ceremony. We had to delay or ceremony a little and in this time she entertained our guests  with her sense of humour with and good crack! every single guest had commented on how amazing she was the most important part of a wedding day is the ceremony. As much as we all like a good party that’s the real reason we get married I couldn’t think of anyone else I would have wanted to marry us that day and I feel completely burst that Shelley was a part of our special day thank you Shelly love from Sarah and Gary.The Abbey Athy September  2023

Where do we start! From her first call with Shelley, I knew that we had made the perfect decision for Wedding Celebrant. We spoke with Shelly back and forth via text and calls for months before our wedding, as we are planning from abroad, and she was always on hand to answer are (many) questions. Shelly became more like a mum for Paul and I as the wedding day grew closer and so it  felt like on the day. We had someone we knew very well Marry us , which was very special. Shelly is such a warm kind, caring and professional lady. She created the most beautiful wedding ceremony for us which both we and our Guest described as magic. Not forgetting her witty sense of humour to ensure it was an unforgettable ceremony. The most important thing for us, is that Shelley could sense how much we valued our family and friends, and included everyone including my nanny, in our ceremony. It was Shelley’s idea for my nanny to bring up our rings and this will always be a memory I will treasure. Thank you Shelley you might not of got totally rid of us yet as I’ll still check in to see how you are doing on WhatsApp the odd time . We had the honour to have Shelley for our ceremony and she was just amazing. From that very first call until she left Shelly went beyond and above, she was always on hand when a few problems came up to give us the best advice and help solve them. We started our journey as three strangers but by the time you were getting married it was like a really good friend Marrying us, was shelley was there to help keep my  now husband calm and having Shelly definitely helped  keep his poor nerves at bay. Where do I start with Shelley! if there was a job created for someone this one is for Shelley. She is excellent at what she does so passionate and creative the most relaxed atmosphere on our day! our engagement was  quite quick 91 days to be exact but even in that short time I got to know Shelley so quickly, and  the morning of my wedding she popped around while I was getting ready it was our first time meeting in person but felt like we knew each other for years ! Where do we start with Shelley , Shelley came recommended me through my nail technician and we are so thankful our paths crossed and Shelley was there to Marry us  on our wedding day. Whilst  on a call with Shelly to chat about if we would book her in for a big day we muted the call and both said ‘yes definitely, let’s just book her now! From there journey with Shelley was filled with laughter, checking in with calls and a helpful hand the whole way !!also Shelley loves a voice note and for all your brides and grooms getting married sometime sending an email for just a quick question and waiting 24 to 48 hours for an update isn’t what we want when we are on a roll !!so to be able to send Shelley a voice note and get an instant response made our lives easier. We we are so lucky to have Shelly as our celebrant. She is just so lovely, from beginning to end, she put so much time and effort in for our ceremony. I have known Shelley for years having previously worked with her. When we were deciding on a celebrant  for our big day I knew without a doubt who I wanted the husband had no choice (good practice for him). Once Mark met Shelley he also agreed there was no one else he would want doing our ceremony . I recently re-visited a trauma from my early childhood it was starting to really get me down a friend of mine suggested her good friend Shelley who is an interfaith minister and a good person to have a chat with. I’m not into religion or any of that. Shelley explained that she was not there as a member of any church she was just there to hold  the space for me.Best chat I have had  in a long time. Thank you Shelley for making a difference and thank you for telling me you’re always there if I needed a friend  and all your encouraging words you have an amazing gift and you are an amazing person.

Surely was an amazing settlement from start to finish even though we still have daily chats) she was extremely accommodating to us and so helpful we only met Shelly three days before our wedding day but felt like we knew her a lifetime. She made our ceremony  so lovely and personal and she was excellent with her nephews they loved her ! we had unfortunately had some last minute family sadness with Shelley respectfully addressed we  have to stress that we can both honestly say we loved Shelly and every minute of our day and even though it was a very sad Time and my beautiful Mam passing away two days later Shelley made my mum very much part of our ceremony which was beautiful. Shelley  settled us  down and also was great for last-minute nerves and making sure we knew what we were doing on our wedding dat reminding us of how much we would would be there for each other and how important  it was to support each other. What can I say, it was the nicest ceremony that I have ever attended Shelly officiated my sons wedding and it was absolutely amazing it felt like she was part of her family, it was emotional funny and so personal to the couple we got to hear a little bit about their journey to getting them to their wedding day and what marriage was all about. Shelley  was our  Celebrent on our wedding day in BallyMcGarvey village 14th/o2/2022 Valentines day💕 Shelley  made our wedding day so special but it was just not the day itself it was the buildup also, we had to postpone our wedding four times and Shelley  was there every step of the way supporting us and lifting us when we were feeling deflated. Reminding us of why we were getting married and what really mattered. The day arrived and of course Shelley blew it out of the water she had everyone laughing and crying the perfect mixture she even calmed down our very nervous three-year-old little girl who was refusing to walk up the aisle Shelly O’Shea saved the day of course and poppy walked up the aisle to her daddy full of smiles after a few encouraging words from Shelly. We wanted a calm relaxed atmosphere for our wedding nothing too serious and boring and that’s exactly what Shelly brought. Fun laughs emotional the most beautiful vibe . We weren’t sure what an interfaith minister was Shelley  took time to explain to us telling us she was respectful to all religions all genders and none religious ceremonies  at the end of the day it was about us  and our family’s love is love. I was bridesmaid at my friends wedding  in Brooklodge recently where Shelley was the wedding celebrant. she gave a lovely ceremony which was professional and personal to the wonderful couple it was very heartfelt you could see she has a real passion for what she does and she spoke beautiful words which came from her heart. I cannot recommend Shelley enough from the first day I spoke to her over the phone I felt I knew her already, she spent 10 minutes explaining to me who she was and explaining what an interfaith minister was. This was important to us as it can be quite a confusing to learn about all the different people who can officiate your wedding day. We are not religious but we wanted our day to be special we wanted to bring a little bit of spirituality into our ceremony and also it was important for us to remember our loved who have passed on. Shelley suggested that we light  a special  candle and invite them in to be part of our day, My mum had passed on so this meant a

lot to me .  it was very emotional but also very special. Shelley helped me so much explaining about the paperwork we had to do in the HSE she gave me the push  I needed to get things posted off on time. Myself and Darryl struggled to write our own vows and when I said this to Shelley  she took it with ease and wrote them for us, they were perfect and so Personal.  You can tell Shelly takes great pride in her job and she does it so well and we also have a little bit of fun which I think is very important. Not only did Shelley do our wedding ceremony but due to the covid  restrictions we never got to do our sons naming ceremony Shelley was able to incorporate this into our ceremony  wow and it was very special she even had jelly babies on the ready for our son  I can now say Shelley is a friend and  I will not I will be recommending her to anyone getting married in the future.

We met  Rev Shelley after cancelling our plans to marry abroad I was feeling quite overwhelmed with having to organise a wedding in Ireland as I had just got to grips with the Italian system. A friend who knew Shelley recommended her to us,  She was my first port of call when we decided to marry in Ireland. from that first phone call  over zoom she made me feel at ease she explained very simply where I was to start with arranging a wedding in Ireland and talked me through all the steps along the way always with a smile on her face I really believe the stars aligned and Shelley was supposed to be part of our big day. Our wedding day was magical and much more than most expected  as it wasn’t a typical religious ceremony. it was very respectful very spiritual Shelley came to know Simon and I as a couple and this personalisation really came out in our ceremony there was lots of tears happy ones . Shelley is really one-of-a-kind she is the fairy godmother of celebrants/ceremonies ,nothing is too much trouble for her .  She will be there when you need her at the end of the phone to put you at ease ,nothing will phase her that’s what you need when planning a wedding ,sometimes it’s that sounding board I could not recommend Shelley enough she has become part of our lives and we will never forget how special she made our wedding day she made an impact on so many of our guests who all remarked on the ceremony.  I loved the quote  Shelley  told us  when we first met her.

I cannot begin to recommend Shelley highly enough we are one week on from our wedding day 18th September 2021  and still have people commenting about how personal warm and heartfelt our ceremony was and that was all down to Shelly. She is the celebrant that goes above and beyond what is required she made it her business to get to know myself and my husband on a personal level before our  big day and that was apparent during our ceremony Shelley explained to us her journey into becoming a Celebrent minister and told us about her passion for celebrating love and including as many family members as she could in our ceremony. It felt like a friend was marrying us she made our children feel so included in our day and nothing was a problem to her. She was so respectful to the older people in our wedding party  who were only attended church weddings and made it her business to have a chat with our grandad, which meant so much to us. Shelley is just the nicest lady and an absolute professional if you book Shelley for your special occasion I can assure you that you are in very good hands.

We had Shelley for our son’s baby naming ceremony and wow, Shelley went above and beyond everything we expected.It was such a beautiful heart felt and warm ceremony. Shelley introduced herself to us and explained that she was an interfaith minister and she was respectful to all religions and non-religion  ceremonies. It was very important that we remembered  the people who loved Theo but were no longer with us( grandparents). Shelley performed a beautiful butterfly blessing and we got to pin a beautiful butterfly on Theo’s clothes as a mark of respect to his grandparents especially his grandmother  who sadly only recently passed away. it was also very important for us to recognise those beautiful people who play such a big role in Theo’s life.Shelley made it all so special and loving and we couldn’t of being happier. Thank you so much Shelley for making Theo’s day so special for us.

I will never forget those words ‘The light of the memory can never be extinguished in the heartsof those who love them. Recently after playing a game of golf with my good friend Shelley. she noticed I was feeling a bit down ,I explained that we have lost a lot of patients to covid recently, and that the staff morale was really at an all-time low. Within 10 minutes Shelley suggested to me a healing ceremony which she offered to do for my staff and residents .she quickly put together lovely poems a candle ceremony and the little angel table where they could all have a secret angel and leave a present anonymously on a Friday to cheer each other up.

The healing ceremony was exactly what it said ,and what was needed for my staff. Shelley opened the ceremony with a beautiful spiritual reading followed by the lighting of four candles she then explained and   acknowledged how important it was to all of us to grieve.

We called out all the names of the patients we had lost and Shelly then invited us to plant some daffodils in a little memory garden .Telling  us the story of how the daffodils would always appear every year and the light of their memory will always be there. We finished the ceremony with the song you’ll never walk alone and Shelly even bought two boxes of chocolate’s to share among the staff telling us how much appreciated we all are for our work. That was a great air of peace around the nursing home afterwards even had a little bit of a buzz because people definitely felt they had now  got closure and paid respect to all the people they never got to go to the funeral ,and reminding each other how important each and everyone of these patients were to them. it was really very special. Thank you Shelley we will always remember your kindness and for anyone who is looking for closure on a loved one we would definitely recommend getting in touch with Reverend Shelley o shea. Her empathy and her kindness will never be forgotten.

Shelley was amazing from start to finish and really helped us through out the whole lead up to our big day including organising the information we needed for our green book to marry and just given us general advice where we haven’t a clue. All of our wedding guests complimented Shelley for weeks after on how great she was and how much she knew about us as a couple. We couldn’t recommend Shelley highly enough, she personalised our ceremony and made it so special for us to a point where our family and friends are still talking about it nearly a week later, The commitment  she has her job is 2nd to none.   We could never thank her enough definitely highly recommend Shelley as your celebrant/interfaith minister  if you’re lucky enough to have her. Shelley explained right from the beginning that she was an interfaith minister which meant she was respectful to all religions all genders and non religion ceremonies which made the older guess that we had feel very comfortable it was all about love on the day and our families  sure did love it. In September 2020 Shelley was the celebrant for our son Finns naming  ceremony. From the moment I started speaking to Shelley I felt like she was family. She was so welcoming and warm and just a beautiful person to talk to. She came highly recommended by other mothers and I am so glad we had the opportunity to have her for our  sons special day. Shelley put so much thought and effort into our ceremony And listened to exactly what we wanted from the day. There wasn’t a dry eye  in the house at times, the ceremony it was so beautiful and personal to our family and meant a lot to us all. We met Shelley in February when she celebrated our daughters naming ceremony we knew from the first phone call with Shelley we made the right decision in choosing her to celebrate Stella’s big day . A kind gentle and professional soul from the get go when I arrive to my secret wedding and Shelley walked out I beamed with delight that she was going to Marry us.  The ceremony was flawless beautiful and special. Shelley is now like family to us in our eyes we loved having her on both special occasions and we cannot wait to see her again. if anyone is looking to celebrate a naming day or looking for the perfect wedding celebrant who goes the extra mile . Shelley is the absolute best! From our very first phone call she has been so helpful throughout every single step of our planning. We planned a destination wedding in Dublin (my fiance and I and all our guests are from Boston USA ) and I don’t know how I could have done it without Shelley She went above and beyond to help us plan from abroad she went to our venue and  took pictures for us she gave us her recommendations for suppliers that she knew had trusted. what ever we needed help with, Shelley was more than willing she really got to know us over the months of planning as well, Chatting on the phone and Skype it made a hugh difference that she truly got to know us as a couple. Even though we had to cancel our wedding due today COVID-19 situation we were able to see the draft of the ceremony she wrote for us and it was absolutely beautiful! it was personal special, Intimate  and really reflected us as a couple.Shelley worked very closely with us to make sure the ceremony was perfect. I am so sad that we had to cancel our wedding and she won’t be able to perform the beautiful ceremony but I am so grateful that I met Shelley and I cannot recommend her enough. Shelley done our daughters naming ceremony in Cork this week-end and it was amazing! We had never been to a naming ceremony and neither had any of our guests so nobody was sure what to expect but it was great and all our guests kept saying how nice it was and how it was cantered around our little girl & our family just what we wanted. I booked Shelley for our daughters naming day on the recommendation of a blogger I follow on instagram, (Aoife Devlin) so it was safe to say I was just taking a chance and I am so glad I did.She contacted me without delay, went through everything over the phone, and continued to keep in touch via email and social media during the following months leading up to our daughters big day which suited us as we are in Limerick. Shelley gave us guidance where we needed it and let us add and take away what we wanted for our girls day. nothing was a problem as she kept saying “your day your way”On the naming day there was a problem with the venue and Shelley completely took it in her stride and put me at ease. She got stuck in and the issue was averted pretty quick. She included some lovely personal touches to the ceremony and everyone agreed it was a fantastic albeit emotional day. I would highly recommend Shelley if you want someone who is laid back and relaxed but gets things done at the same time helping you every step of the way.

We recently used Shelley for the naming ceremony of our little girl Grace. What a fantastic day was had. Shelley put us all at ease before and during the ceremony. Having never been to a naming day we did not know what to expect and she ran through so many options we could have. Helped us with readings and poems etc. Everyone thought the ceremony was just beautiful and Shelley created a warm and happy environment! I was fortunate to attend my first baby naming ceremony at the beautiful venue Cliffs at Lyons last friday 7th of June.What can i say about the celebrant Shelley !! She was professional,Spiritual and very entertaining and shelley made the ceremony so personal for baby Sebastian she included all the family so everyone felt they played a part in babys very  special day, his naming day.I couldn’t recommend this celebrant Shelley O Shea enough.

What a very special day yesterday was,thanks to Shelley.My grandson came from canada and ,surrounded by family,we had the most beautiful baby naming ceremony.Because he was named after his great grandfather who has Alzheimer the ceremony helped us all remember the great man he was and that he will live on in this beautiful child.

Shelley done our naming day for our son Arlo. We have never had one before and had never been to one before.Shelley was a dream to work with, she set the tone from the moment we met her, very calm and organised! She made us feel very relaxed about the ceremony from the get go. We liaised back & fourth for a few months coming up to the day and Shelley was so helpful when I had any questions! When I said I wanted to do things a certain way she was very much on board and kept reassuring us it was Arlo’s day and Arlo’s way! When the day came it went off without a hitch!
