Every couple is different, and that’s exactly how it should be.
One thing I always say to my couples is this: it’s completely normal to feel nervous on your wedding day.
Standing in front of 100 or more people, knowing every eye is on you, can feel overwhelming. Not everyone enjoys being the centre of attention, and that’s okay.
That’s why I always give my couples a choice during the ceremony. They can sit side-on, looking towards their guests, or with their backs to them. It’s never about being rude—it’s about creating a space where they feel comfortable, relaxed and able to enjoy one of the biggest moments of their lives.
This beautiful bride Beaudine my 2nd cousin-in-law told me she was was feeling a little nervous before the ceremony, but after seeing this photograph and hearing her tell me how comfortable and at ease she felt and enjoyed her ceremony I knew I’d done my job.
Being a legal wedding celebrant in Ireland isn’t just about delivering a ceremony. It’s about listening, understanding and making sure every couple feels supported, seen and able to be themselves. I may not always get it 100% right but I strive to learn every day to be the best version of myself and to deliver the best ceremony for all my couples.
Moments like this are exactly why I love what I do.
